Annual over width permit

Permits for the movement of over width vehicles must be purchased prior to entering the Northwest Territories.

Permits can also be applied for through an approved third-party.

1. Widths greater than 3.85m proceeded by one escort vehicle at all times from NWT hwy 1 border to Hay River/Yellowknife. Widths greater than 3.2m proceeded by one escort vehicle at all times on all other NWT highways.
2. Widths greater then 4.45m must be preceded by one escort vehicle and followed by one escort vehicle at all times to destination.
